"A well needed break" - Step 1 finished

Step 1 of the canvasproject "A well needed break" is now finished. This means that all the digital artworks are now ready to be printed.

I´m expecting the prints to arrive somewhere around the end of next week and I am feeling absolutely stoked to get started with the craftmanship of handfinishing the pieces.

* I will provide more info about the pieces as the project proceeds but for now I´ll just hook you up with the basics:

"A well needed break" is going to consist of 3 (three) 80cm x 130cm limited edition, handfinished, numbered and signed canvaspieces.

* The idea of the project came up a long time ago with a good friend of mine mentioning the extra ordinary social behavior among flocks of giraffes. Her statement that giraffes have a lot in common with human social behavior and sometimes needs to spend quality time with themselves to relax and sort things out just captured me.

During a short period of working for a huge meatproducer in Norway I found myself smoking 10 cigs a day which is a lot due to the fact that I´ve never considered myself beeing fond of smoking. Actually, most of the employees at the factory smoked between 10 and 20 cigs a day.

In some strange way the cigs just worked as a satisfying and relaxing venom during the well needed breaks.

And since then cigarettes has helped me to relax even though I still not consider myself addictive to cigarettes. It´s just something with the childish rebellious feeling and satisfying thought of: "I don´t care about the people telling me that its bad, I just need my cig-moments to get back up on the horse".

This piece does not moralise for or against smoking. It´s just a celebration to people who dare to stand out from the crowd and knows the importance of reflecting over one´s existence.
